Chris Loft – Senior Accountant
Chris is an experienced local businessman who has been there and done it and is still doing it. He is prepared to speak his mind and has a wide
network of highly regarded contacts in all areas of business and government.
Chris has been a qualified accountant for over thirty years and has expanded his expertise to encompass the many areas of business management, tax accounting and
business analysis.
He received his education in Melbourne and worked, at the start of his career, as Secretary for the Barden Group of Companies for 8 years. This position gave Chris
the work experience skills in dealing with all aspects of analysing, organising, building and expanding a business from the ground up. During these early years, the
business grew from two partners, one part-time secretary and Chris into a company that employed 50 staff members, while never losing any staff members. This is
a remarkable experience to begin an illustrious career and gave Chris knowledge found only in the area of life long learning.
He and his wife, Tina, relocated to the Wide Bay area in 1981. The Lofts began raising their five children in Hervey Bay and moved to Maryborough 18 years ago.
Chris Loft specialises in general management, business analysis, financial management, 'new ideas' evaluation and marketing evaluation – all of which begin at
the 'grass roots' level. His formal qualifications include Accountant, Registered Tax Agent; Registered Consultant for B.R.& E (Business Retention & Expansion); and
Enact Business Architech. The mission statement behind Chris Loft & Associates has always remained the primary focus for all staff.
In addition to his primary business, Chris has current involvement in a number of small businesses in the Wide Bay area. With tourism being enjoyed year round on
the Fraser Coast, Chris operates
Maryborough Tours
and Queenslander Lydia Bed and Breakfast.
Entrepeneurial businesses
include Tea Pot Strainer Manufacturing
and the Globe Building (Business Incubator Centre). In an effort to revitalise the Portside/Wharf Street District, Chris is one of six business owners dedicated to bringing
the area back to its former life with a collaborative effort known as Maryborough Portside.
He established Chris Loft & Associates in 1991 and has built an extensive clientele through dedication and a genuine desire to see area businesses flourish.
Bill McGuire – Senior Accountant
Bill is the business's other qualified accountant. His knowledge of Maryborough and what makes business grow in the area gives him the expertise to help new and
established business owners get the most from their investment and potential.
Beth Jewell – Administrator
Beth has been the rock that keeps things running smoothly at Chris Loft & Associates. She is usually the first person a client will come in contact with, providing new
clients with the requirements necessary for the initial consultation thus assuring they receive the full benefits for the services they seek.
